Dopo otto mesi di soggiorno al Residence Manuela posso sicuramente testimoniare la piacevole atmosfera e la ben nota gustosa cucina italiana. La signora Floriana e suo figlio Andrea, oltre ad aver creato una piccola e confortevole isola italiana nel centro di Lagos, sono riusciti ad amalgamare la cultura del Paese con le esigenze degli ospiti di varie provenienze. L’efficienza nei servizi riesce a soddisfare le richieste di frettolosi ospiti, presenti per brevi periodi, con le richieste di chi, come me, è ospite stanziale.
Essenziale la pulizia, qui addirittura maniacale (fortunatamente!!); un servizio di lavanderia puntuale che accontenterebbe anche la suocera più esigente; il giardino e la piscina molto curati; il tradizionale forno a legna per le pizze; gli alimenti freschi, molti dei quali trasportati puntualmente dall’Italia; un team di manutentori sempre attenti a prevenire ogni problema o a risolverlo, nel caso, rapidamente: tutto questo il segreto del successo! Giudizio: un firmamento di stelle!

After eight months of stay at Residence Manuela I can certainly witness the pleasant atmosphere and the well known tasty Italian cuisine. Mrs. Floriana and her son Andrea, as well as creating a small and comfortable Italian island in the center of Lagos, have managed to combine the culture of the country with the needs of guests of various origins. Efficiency in services can satisfy the requests of hasty guests, present for short periods, with the requests of those who, like me, are permanent guests.Essential cleaning, here even manic (fortunately !!); a punctual laundry service that would satisfy even the most demanding mother-in-law; the garden and the swimming pool very well kept; the traditional wood-burning oven for pizzas; fresh food, many of which are transported on time from Italy; a team of maintainers who are always careful to prevent any problem or solve it, if necessary, quickly: all this is the secret of success! Judgment: a firmament of stars!

PERCHE’ ANDARE Il nome completo è San Cristobal de l’Habana ed è la città più grande dei Caraibi: L’Avana è uno dei centri urbani più ricchi di cultura del mondo. La sfilata di castelli, cattedrali, palazzi e musei è testimonianza del suo ricco passato coloniale ed il quartiere storico de La Vieja Habana è stato decretato dall’Unesco Patrimonio dell’Umanità con oltre 900 monumenti. A questo si aggiungono le altre caratteristiche che rendono la città davvero speciale: la musica e la danza in ogni dove, l’amore per la cultura e i libri con cinema, teatri, gallerie d’arte e negozi di libri sparsi ovunque, i 15 chilometri di spiagge bellissime con i reef corallini che possono essere ammirati sia sopra che sotto l’acqua.
DA NON PERDERE A ridosso della Baia c’è l’Habana Vieja, che si estende per circa 5 chilometri: tra edifici storici, piazze e musei interessanti, strade acciottolate e le suggestioni dello splendore perduto si vive tutto il fascino della città. Plaza de la Catedral dominata dalla Cattedrale, Plaza de Armas e Plaza de San Francisco sono i punti principali. Allo sbocco della Baia de l’Habana si trovano due fortificazioni storiche, tra le più imponenti dell’America del Sud: El Morro, un castello fortificato dalle possenti mura che si erge sulle coste rocciose, e la Cabana, ancora più maestosa del primo e ricca di fascino, fatta costruire sull’altra parte della baia. Alcune calle segnano il confine tra città vecchia e il centro de L’Avana: Calle Monserrate, Calle Agramonte, il Prado, il luogo del passeggio per eccellenza, ma anche il Parque Central. Il quartiere Cerro si inerpica su una collina, mentre ad ovest del centro si trova il quartiere di Vedado, che prosegue oltre il colossale Cementerio Colon prendendo il nome di Nuevo Vedado, ricco di case residenziali. La zona de La Rampa è particolarmente elegante e il lungomare Malecon è il luogo più importante di questa parte della città poiché qui si trova la Plaza de la Rivolucion con la gigantesca immagine di Che Guevara che campeggia sui muri esterni del Palazzo de la Revolucion. Per chi cerca il relax in spiaggia Playa Bacuranao, Playa el Megano, Playa Santa Maria e Playa Guanabo sono le più affascinanti.
